Weekend of Nov 10

First off, let me start by apologizing for not updating the site during the recovery of subway service last week. With the rapidly changing service patterns in place following Hurricane Sandy, I decided to leave the map-making to the MTA and for the first time in a long while, they really stepped up to the plate with all the maps they issued in the days following the resumption of subway service, sometimes posting updated maps four or more times per day. With my busy schedule, there wouldn’t have been much time to update things on my end, so it all worked out.

Secondly, I want to apologize for the tardiness in posting this weekend’s map. I like to put these things up by Friday so people can actually plan ahead. With all that out of the way, let’s get to this weekend service changes. Obviously, all of the service changes in place this weekend, not that are all the much in the first place, are related in some way to service restoration post-Hurricane Sandy. There still is no service in lower Manhattan on the 1 line or the Broadway line. Even though this really doesn’t affect weekend riders, there is also no J (or Z) service south of Chambers St, so just keep that in mind for Monday morning’s commute.

In a bit of good news, A trains will resume service to Howard Beach starting at 8 AM Sunday and shuttle bus service will begin to Far Rockaway from the Howard Beach station. Subway shuttle service between Far Rockaway and Rockaway Park will begin as soon as possible.
The map illustrating all the above is below.

  1. Your map is missing a few details. There’s other service changes involving the f running via the C in Bk. The 7 running in Qns only and a few others as well.
