Weekend of July 5th

Good afternoon everyone. I’m posting this earlier than normal since I won’t be near my computer later this evening. Let’s jump right into this, no? Once again the Montague tunnels are closed, which means the R trains are running via the Manhattan Bridge in both directions. Speaking of Sandy-related closures, this is the first weekend of the Greenpoint tubes closure. Northbound G trains will terminate at Nassau Av with shuttle buses connecting to Court Sq.

The other major service changes include the 2 and 3 running local in most of Manhattan, Queens-bound 7 trains running express in Queens, the replacement of trains with shuttle buses along Myrtle Avenue and the beginning of a new Brighton rehabilitation project that will force Manhattan-bound Q trains over to the express tracks in Brooklyn. In a bit of good news this weekend, the 1 is running normally from 242 St to South Ferry. But that’s about it. The map has all the details, including some disruptions not mentioned. Any necessary changes will be made either very late tonight or early tomorrow. Enjoy the weekend and try to stay cool.

Hey, I said I’d update any necessary revisions sometime today. And it turns out I have to. The M is running normally this weekend, as is the Q between Sheepshead Bay and Kings Hwy. Manhattan-bound Q trains are still running express between Kings Hwy and Prospect Park, so watch out for that. The updated map is linked below.
