Weekend of September 28th

Good evening everyone. Well, we’ve reached the end of another month, as well as another quarter. And we’ve got a bit of a mess this weekend. Let’s start in Manhattan where several of the service changes are in effect. The 1 is once again truncated from South Ferry to 14 St. The shuttle buses run their normal route between Chambers St and South Ferry while the 2 and 3 pick up the slack running local between Penn Station and Chambers St. We’ve also got the Brooklyn-bound F trains running via the E-line between Roosevelt Av and Rockefeller Center. The Brooklyn-bound A and D trains run local from 168 St or 145 St respectively through 59 St-Columbus Circle while the downtown 6 trains run express from Harlem to Grand Central.

Leaving the island, we’ve got a few more service disruptions. They’re still Fixing and Fortifying the G-line so there’s no service north of Nassau Av. Normal track work has train service replaced by shuttle buses on the L-line between Lorimer St and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs. Finally, more ongoing track work on Dyre Avenue in the Bronx is pushing Manhattan-bound 5 trains over to the express track from Dyre Av to E 180 St.

Everything as always is in map form below.

And while I know this is primarily for the subway, I figured I post this here as well. Here’s the newest (weekend) service pattern for the New Haven Line.

Enjoy the weekend.

Weekend of Sept. 20th

Good evening everyone. This will be another short post since I’m a bit busy here. The big service disruptions are on the A (no service between Euclid Av and Lefferts Blvd/JFK Airport) and the M (shuttle buses replace train service). Coney Island-bound F trains are once again running express on the Culver Viaduct, downtown A and D trains run local along Central Park West and Manhattan-bound 5 trains bypass all stops between Dyre Av and E 180 St. The map has everything illustrated. Enjoy the weekend.

Weekend of September 14th

Good evening folks and happy Friday. This weekend is going to be a mess, especially on the West Side, so let’s get right to the service advisories. The 1-line is out south of 14 St due to ongoing work at the Cortlandt St station. The D is suspended between Herald Square and the Barclays Center for an inspection of the Manhattan Bridge. Finally, the E is rerouted via the F-line in both directions between Roosevelt Av and W 4 St for a tunnel survey related to Hurricane Sandy last year.

We also have, returning from last week, the suspension of the L-line between Lorimer St and Myrtle Av, as well as a service change that hasn’t been around in a while. Coney Island-bound F trains are running express between Jay St and Church Av while G train service is truncated to Hoyt-Schermerhorn. There’s also the assortment of local and express runs. The map has all the details. Enjoy the weekend.

Weekend of September 7th

Good evening everyone. It’s Friday and we all know what that means – weekend subway work. It’s going to be a fairly busy one so you’re going to want to pay attention this time. Not that you shouldn’t any other time. The big disruption of the weekend is on the 1-line. There will be no train service north of 137 St with shuttle buses and the A trains being the main alternatives. We’ve also got shuttle buses replacing a section of the L-line between Lorimer St and Myrtle Av. This weekend also marks the return of the G-line shutdown between Nassau Av and Court Sq. I’m sure we’re all familiar with that one, right?

Wrapping up the rest of the reroutes, 179 St-bound F trains are running via 53rd Street while Coney Island-bound F’s are running via the C-line through the Cranberry Tubes. Also, Coney Island-bound N trains are running via the D-line along the West End. You’ve also got your pesky express runs, though they’re limited to the 5 on Dyre Avenue in the Bronx, the C along lower 8th Avenue and the Q in Brooklyn.

As always, the map has all the details. Enjoy.
