Weekend of May 24th

Good evening folks and Happy Memorial Day. It’s the unofficial start of the summer season and the MTA is using the extended weekend for more maintenance work time. As it has been all month, work on the 2, 3, 4, J and M lines continues. E and F trains are once again running local in Queens. Queens-bound F trains are running via the E-line from Rockefeller Center through 36 St. Finally, uptown A and D trains run local along Central Park West.

A reminder, some service changes run through Tuesday instead of Monday, so check the advisory boxes on the map linked below for times. Enjoy the long weekend everyone.

Weekend of May 17th

Good afternoon folks. Here are the highlights of this weekend’s service disruptions. Work on the 2, 3, 4, J and M lines continues from last week. Queens-bound F trains run via the E-line from Rockefeller Center to Roosevelt Av. Speaking of the F, both the E and F trains run local in both directions along Queens Blvd. Finally, Queens-bound F and G trains are running express from Church Av to Smith-9 Sts and Coney Island-bound Q trains are making only express stops between Prospect Park and Brighton Beach. The map has the details; enjoy the weekend.

P.S. Next week marks the start of FASTRACK on the 8th Avenue line north of Columbus Circle. During the late evening and overnight hours, northbound A train service will be truncated to 59 St while D train service will be suspended between Yankee Stadium and Columbus Circle.

Weekend of May 10th

Good afternoon everyone. We’re going to jump right into this one. Work on the Brooklyn numbered lines continues from last week. There will be no service on the 2-line between Franklin Av and Flatbush Av. Service on the 3 and 4-lines between Franklin Av and New Lots Av is also suspended. Shuttle buses will replace train service along both lines. We also have line suspensions on the Jamaica elevated and the Myrtle Avenue line. M-trains will not be running for the entire weekend while J-train service is suspended between Marcy Av and Broadway Junction.

Rounding out this weekend’s service disruptions, E and F trains are running local along the entire stretch of Queens Blvd and 4 and 5 trains run local in both directions north of Grand Central. Queens-bound F-trains are running via the E-line between Rockefeller Center and Roosevelt Av.

Finally, a few things you should be aware of. If you have to use the 7-line this weekend, service between Queensboro Plaza and Times Sq will be suspended early Sunday morning. Also, starting Monday, Far Rockaway and Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains will bypass 88 St and 104 St for station rehabilitation. Speaking of the A-line, FASTRACK will once again hit the Fulton Street line in Brooklyn, suspending A-line service between Jay St and Broadway Junction during the overnight hours.

I think that’s it for now. The map has all the details of this weekend’s disruptions.

Weekend of May 3rd (8 Lines, SIRR Affected)

Good afternoon. At the time of this post, Queens Blvd is still disrupted by the earlier derailment on the line. E and F trains are running local while M and R service has been rerouted off the line entirely. Removing the derailed train will require the line be shut down completely this evening starting at 10pm. Weekend service along Queens Blvd should hopefully be back to normal by tomorrow morning.

With that out of the way, let’s get on to the other service changes. This weekend marks the beginning of a month-long shutdown of the Brooklyn IRT east of Franklin Av. 2 trains are terminating at Franklin Av and 4 trains aren’t running past Atlantic Av. The 3 is suspended entirely. Shuttle buses replace train service along all affected sections. Once again, Q trains are running express along the Brighton line towards Coney Island, while downtown 1 trains skip stops between 145 St and 96 St. Finally, alternating Bronx-bound 6 trains are terminating at 3 Av-138 St.

Check out the map for the details. Enjoy the weekend.

SUNDAY EDIT:

While it’s a bit late, I’m sure someone will find this useful. E and F local service has once again been restored to the Queens Blvd line. However, service will be suspended this evening between Roosevelt Av and either 21 St or Queens Plaza, as it was last night. Northbound R-line service will continue to avoid the Queens Blvd line and terminate at Midtown-57 St until Monday morning. An updated map is now available.
