Weekend of Mar. 27th

Another month has bit the dust, even if doesn’t exactly feel like it. Let’s dive right into this weekend’s service changes. Once again, the 7 is not running past Hunters Point Av and the A is suspended on the Lefferts Blvd branch. Also, we’re back to not having the 5 run on the Dyre Ave line. Finally, train service across the Williamburg Bridge is suspended during the daytime hours. J trains will run between Jamaica Center and Hewes St while the M will run only as a shuttle along the Myrtle Ave line. This weekend, there will not be a Manhattan J shuttle train between Essex St and Chambers St, so are going to want to plan your trip in advance, especially if you’re travelling between Lower Manhattan and the Jamaica elevated.

As usual, express/local runs are plenty, some normal, some not so much. The map has the details. Click on the link for it.

Enjoy the weekend.

SUNDAY EDIT: During the evening hours, M train service will be extended to the Chambers St J-line station.

Weekend of Mar. 21st

Well, it’s slightly later than usual, but not by much. This weekend is a bit similar to last weekend. There is still no 7 trains running west of Hunters Point Av. 1 train service is also reduced north of City College and A train service on the Lefferts branch is still suspended. You’re going to want to check out the map because there are quite a few express-only runs throughout the system. The link for said map is below. Enjoy the weekend.

Also, a reminder: the fare goes up on Sunday. Keep that in mind.

SUNDAY EDIT: F trains are running normally in Brooklyn. The map has been updated to reflect this change in service.

Weekend of Mar. 14th

Good early evening folks. This weekend, we have to contend with several major disruptions. The 5 trains is still not running to Dyre Ave. The A trains are once again, not running to Lefferts Blvd and 7 train service is suspended in Manhattan again. However, there is a bit of a change regarding that last one. Instead of terminating at Queensboro Plaza, 7 trains will run through Hunters Point Av to serve more of Long Island City. The usual shuttle bus route between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Blvd is still in place though. Finally, we have limited service on the 1-line north of 137 Street.

Then, we have several express and local runs in place scattered throughout the system. You can check the map for the details. There are a few service changes in place Sunday morning and they’re major so pay attention. First, there will be no 5 trains running between E 180 Street and 149 St-Grand Concourse. 2 trains are running normally, but you should allow additional travel time. Also, there will be no direct service between Howard Beach and the Rockaways. A trains will only run to Howard Beach while the Rockaway Park shuttle runs between Beach 116 Street and Far Rockaway.

SUNDAY EDIT: There are a few minor changes in place. On the F-line, Coney Island-bound trains are only bypassing Avenue U.

Weekend of Mar. 7th

Good evening folks. A couple of service changes from last week have carried over to this weekend. First off, 7 train service is once again suspended between 74 Street and Times Square. Additional E-trains are being provided for alternate service. As mentioned in the comments for last week’s post, the LIRR is also cross-honoring fares between Woodside and Penn Station. This weekend also sees the return of Coney Island-bound D trains operating over the Sea Beach line.

This weekend, we also have the suspension of 1 train service between 14 Street and South Ferry, with shuttle buses replacing trains between Chambers St and South Ferry. There are some express runs throughout the system. The map has the details for lines and times. Click on the link for it. Enjoy the weekend. It’s supposed to be a little warmer than it has been as of late.
