It’s Labor Day weekend, but the work never stops. It’s a relatively light weekend in terms of major service disruptions because of the holiday, but there are a couple of major suspensions and reroutes affecting travel.

• 2 – No service between E 180 Street and 3 Av-149 St
• 5 – No service between E 180 Street and 149 St-Grand Concourse
• 6 – Reduced service between 3 Av-138 St and Pelham Bay Park
• A D – All service is local-only between 145 Street and 59 St-Columbus Circle
• C – No service between 145 Street and 168 Street
• J – No service between Chambers St and Broad St
• N R – All service runs via Manhattan Bridge
  • Late night R service to Whitehall St is unaffected.

Late Nights – Week of Aug. 27th

As we close out the month of August, we can finally put that switch replacement project behind us. Before celebrating however, be advised that a different track replacement project will begin on the 7th Avenue line, this time on the upper Broadway segment. Also continuing this week is ongoing track maintenance work along the lower segment of the 8th Avenue line. There are a few other service changes in place, and all of which are outlined below:

• 1 – No service between Dyckman St and 96 Street
• 3 – No overnight service
• A – All service runs via F line between W 4 Street and Jay St-MetroTech
• E – No service between 5 Av-53 St and World Trade Center
• F – All service runs via E line between Roosevelt Av and Rockefeller Center
• J – No service between Chambers St and Broad St
• N – All service runs via Manhattan Bridge

Weekend of Aug. 24th

For those tired of the suspensions and reroutes along 7th Avenue, rejoice as this will be the last weekend of major disruptions along the line. At least as it pertains to this particular project. All of the related service changes in place last week are back this weekend, but they’re listed below in case you need a refresher. There are a couple of other unrelated service changes as well.

• 1 – No service between 137 St-City College and South Ferry
• 2 – All service runs via 5 line between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Nevins St
• 3 – No weekend service
• 5 – No service between E 180 Street and Bowling Green
• D – Overnight service is local-only between 145 Street and 59 St-Columbus Circle
• J – No service between Broadway Junction and Jamaica Center
• M – No service between Rockefeller Center and 96 Street

Late Nights – Week of Aug. 20th

While FASTRACK work may have ended last week, Lenox Ave service remains suspended for another week. Also carrying forward from previous weeks is the maintenance work along 8th Avenue, which forces the reroute of all service to the Rutgers tunnels. Here are this week’s service changes:

• 2 – No service between 149 St-Grand Concourse and 96 Street
• 3 – No overnight service
• 7 – No service between Queensboro Plaza and 34 St-Hudson Yards (Tue. morning only)
• A – All service runs via F line between W 4 Street and Jay St-MetroTech
• E – No service between 5 Av-53 St and World Trade Center
• N Q – Downtown service is express-only in Manhattan

This weekend, the final and most disruptive phase of the 96th Street switch replacement project begins. In fact, most of the service changes in place are related to this project. The biggest one is the suspension of service along most of 7th Avenue. Check out the list below:

This week, we see the conclusion of the Lenox Ave FASTRACK work. Among the other service changes in place this week are the continuing maintenance work along the 8th Avenue line and various track maintenance and replacement projects in place on Queens Blvd. Here are the major service disruptions:
