Weekend of Sept. 27th

Good afternoon everyone. Jumping right into this weekend’s service disruptions, we have two major suspensions in place. First, there will be no service on the 1-line north of 96 Street. Shuttle buses, along with the nearby A and C trains and local buses running on St. Nicholas Ave will provide alternate service. Secondly, this is another weekend where the north tracks of the Manhattan Bridge are closed for traffic, which means there will be no D trains running between Herald Square and the Barclays Center. Alternate service will be provided via Broadway and the usual Grand St shuttle.

With those out of the way, there are also a few diversions in place as well. Queens-bound E trains are running via 6th Avenue and 63rd Street while Manhattan-bound F trains run over the E-line along 53rd Street. It will also be another slow going weekend if you’re using Queens Blvd with Jamaica-bound trains running local. Then there are the Manhattan-bond R trains, which are running express from Roosevelt Av to Queens Plaza. Speaking of local runs, be mindful of local-only service on Lexington Ave between 125 Street and Grand Central. Finally, that limited Pelham line service thing remains in effect for yet another weekend. But in a bit of good news, the 5 will be running its full route, albeit with limited overall service. Don’t get used to it though.

Weekend of Sept. 19th

Good afternoon everyone. It’s another busy weekend on the rails, so let’s get right into it. The biggest service change is on the 7-line, where there will be no service between 74 St-Broadway and Times Sq. Increased service on the E-line will provide alternate service during the outage. There’s still no service on the 5-line north of E 180 St. We really should be used to this by now. Continuing work on the Pelham line will result in a reduction in service north of 3 Av-138 St.

There’s also several express runs throughout the subway. The main ones are on the Queens-bound tracks on the Culver and Viaduct lines, as well as on Central Park West in the downtown direction.

Weekend of Sept. 13th

Good afternoon everyone. We’re going to jump right into this weekend’s service changes. First off, let’s start with some potential good news. The rumor mill is abuzz with reports that the Montague tunnels that carry the R between Manhattan and Brooklyn is slated to reopen as early as this weekend. Despite being reported in several papers, the MTA has not officially confirmed this, so until then, I will continue to show the tunnel as closed.

With that out of the way, we’ll get to the service changes proper and for this weekend, there are a few big ones. There’s no 1 train service running north of 96 St. The D is suspended between Herald Square and the Barclays Center. There’s also no service on the Brighton line south of Prospect Park. That ongoing Dyre Avenue suspension on the 5-line.

There are also some express runs in place as well. Manhattan and Queens-bound F and G trains are bypassing local stops between Avenue X and Smith-9 Sts. Jamaica and Forest Hills-bound trains run express between Queens Plaza and Parsons Blvd.

Weekend of Sept. 6th

Good afternoon folks. It’s another fairly light weekend in terms of subway diversions. However, there are disruptions in place, like the seemingly never-ending suspension of 5-line service north of E 180 St. The usual Pelham line diversions remain in place with reduced 6-line service between 3 Av and Pelham Bay Park.

We have the return of a few reroutes, like downtown N trains running over the D-line (Saturday only) and Queens-bound E trains operating via the F-line from W 4 St to 21 St-Queensbridge. Speaking of Queens, it’ll be slow going along Queens Blvd this weekend as all trains towards Forest Hills and Jamaica run local while Manhattan-bound ones run express only.
