Weekend of Apr. 24th

Good afternoon everyone. It’s another weekend with more of the same. The L trains are still not running between Lorimer St and 8 Avenue. There is once again, no 5 train service north of E 180 Street and A trains are not running to Lefferts Blvd, We’ve got a few other reroutes to contend with. Queens-bound F trains are running via the E-line from Rockefeller Center to Roosevelt Av. Speaking of Queens Blvd, this will be another weekend where service is mostly local along the line. Due to the aforementioned L-line closure, M train service is extended to 57 Street during the daytime and evening hours. Watch out for those express runs on the Lexington and 7th Ave lines. Check out the map for the details.

Before we get to the map, I have a bit of good news. After being closed for so long, both Buhre Av and Zerega Av will reopen Monday morning. However, downtown 4 and 6 trains will bypass 103 Street starting early next month.

Weekend of Apr. 18th

Good afternoon everyone. You’re going to want to pay attention to this post because this weekend’s service diversions are a doozy. As you’re probably aware of by now, there will be no L train service between Lorimer St and 8th Avenue for the next five weekends. M train service will be extended to 57 St/6 Av during the daytime and evening hours to bridge the gap in service while shuttle buses provide intra-borough service. This weekend also marks the beginning of station rehabilitation on the Livonia Ave line in Brooklyn. To prepare for the full-time closure of Rockaway and Van Siclen Avs, there will be no service running between Utica Av and New Lots Av on the 3-line all weekend. That’s not all; 1 train service is suspended north of 96 St/Broadway while there will once again be no A trains running on the Lefferts Blvd branch.

Shifting gears slightly, we also have several route diversions in place as well. Per usual, D trains are running with the N in Brooklyn, this time Manhattan-bound. There are a couple of local and express runs on the Queens Blvd line, with Forest Hills and Jamaica-bound trains running express through the entire line in Queens. Also keep in mind the express runs on the Lexington Ave and Brighton lines.

Now that’s everything. Click on the link for the map.

Weekend of Apr. 11th

Good afternoon everyone. It’s a light weekend in terms of construction work. Most of the work will cause express runs, the main one on the Flushing line. Main St-bound trains will run express through the entire line. More express runs are in place along 4th Ave in Brooklyn and 8th Ave in Manhattan. The other major service change is on the D line. Coney Island-bound trains are running via the N-line between 36 Street and Stillwell Av. The map has the details of these service changes, along with the few others not mentioned.

Enjoy the weekend.

SATURDAY EDIT: Maintenance work on the Staten Island Railway at St. George has been cancelled for this weekend.

Weekend of April 4th

Good evening folks. Apologies for not having this up at the usual time, but prior engagements prevented me from having access to my computer. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at this weekend’s service changes. The biggest service disruptions are on the Broadway lines. N train service is suspended between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza, while R trains are rerouted to 6th Ave/53rd St, following the D and M lines between Brooklyn and Queens. Because of that, N trains are running via Lower Manhattan and Q trains are running local. That means it will be a slow trip on any of those lines.

Moving away from that mess, we have a few other service changes to contend with. Manhattan-bound D trains are running via the Sea Beach line in Brooklyn. We’ve got our favorite local run on Queens Blvd as well as a few prominent express runs scattered around. In a bit of good news, for this weekend and the next, M train service is extended to the Chambers St J-line station during the daytime and evening hours. That offers a few more transfers for other lines, so there’s that. The map is linked below. As always, enjoy the weekend.
