Halloween Weekend (10/31)

Good evening folks. With the holiday festivities and the NYC Marathon this weekend, there is a limited amount of construction-related diversions in place, with most taking place on Sunday away from the marathon-specific locations. The exception to the rule is the ever-present closure of the 1-line between 14 Street and South Ferry. Other than that, the only major disruptions in place are the suspension of the Rockaway Park shuttle and the L-line east of Myrtle Av along with the reroute of the A and C trains via the F-line between W 4 Street and Jay St and the local-only service on the E and F trains in Queens. For clarity’s sake, I’ve made two maps to show which service changes are in place depending on the day.

Weekend of Oct. 24th

Hello folks. This weekend is a little better than last week, but there are some major disruptions in place. You’ll definitely notice if you’re riding on the 1, 3, A, E or F lines. Not only is the 1 truncated to 14 Street on the southern end, but there’s also no service north of 137 Street. Once again, the seemingly endless rehab work on the Livonia Ave elevated has knocked out the 3 and 4 lines between Utica Av and New Lots Av. Speaking of station rehabs, that’s also the reason why the A and F are cut back to Euclid Av and Kings Hwy respectively. Finally, regarding the E, trains are rerouted over the F-line in both directions between Jackson Heights and W 4 Street.

There are as usual, a few express and local runs scattered around. Check out the map for the details.

Have a nice weekend.

SUNDAY EDIT: 6 trains are running local in the Bronx. Map has been updated to reflect this change in service.

Weekend of Oct. 16th

Good evening. I’ll keep this brief. Most of the service changes in place last weekend are back in place. 1 trains are not running to South Ferry, the L is suspended between Myrtle Av and Canarsie and Fix and Fortify work has knocked out service for the Cranberry and 53rd Street tunnels. Also, there is no Staten Island Railroad service between Tompkinsville and St. George.

The map has all of the details.

Enjoy the weekend.

SUNDAY EDIT: Some service changes have been cancelled. Click on the link for the new map.

Weekend of Oct. 10th

Good evening. This weekend is going to be rough for subway riders. Once again, the 1 and 5 are not running their full routes. Adding to those partial suspensions, there are no F trains running between Kings Highway and Coney Island. Also, L train service is suspended east of Myrtle Av. Shuttle buses replace the Staten Island railway between Huguenot and Tottenville. Finally, both the 42nd Street and Rockaway Park shuttles are not running this weekend.

Moving away from suspensions, there are several major reroutes in place as well. E trains are running via the F-line in both directions between Roosevelt Av and W 4 Street. A and C trains are running on the F-line as well, though between W 4 Street and Jay St. Both the E and F trains are running local in both directions along Queens Blvd. Speaking of local and express runs, there are a few of them around. The map has the details.

Weekend of Oct. 3rd

Hello everyone.

Well, even though it really doesn’t feel like it, we’ve entered the month of October. With the threat of incredibly inclement weather this weekend, most of the planned service disruptions have been cancelled. That means, for the first time in quite a while, both the 1 and 5 are running their full routes. The few service changes that remain are relatively minor. Click on the link below for the map.

Enjoy the weekend and try to stay dry.
