Weekend of Aug. 26th

08.26Good evening. It a little better this weekend if you need to use the subway. Most of this weekend’s service changes are express runs in one direction or another. However, there are still a couple of line suspensions. Shuttle buses will replace 5 and N service on the northern portion of the White Plains Rd and Astoria lines respectively. On the subject of some of those express runs, downtown C and E trains will not make local stops between Columbus Circle and Canal St, while downtown 4 and 6 trains run express from 125 Street to Grand Central. Downtown Broadway and uptown 6th Avenue service is express-only. There are also a few local runs to contend with. 4 trains are running local in both directions between Grand Central and Brooklyn Bridge. For those wondering, 5 train service is unaffected. Finally, Manhattan-bound E and F trains will run local along Queens Blvd.

Weekend of Aug. 19th

08.18Good evening. This is going to be a very messy weekend, especially if you’re trying to get around midtown. E and F trains are doing the old switcheroo with a new twist. E trains are running on the F-line between Roosevelt Av and 34 St-Herald Sq, the last stop. F trains are running along the E-line in both directions with a few caveats. Brooklyn-bound trains will run from Roosevelt Av to 42 Street on the E-line, then continue along the A line, running express, through Jay St. Queens-bound trains will run normally along 6th Avenue, but will be rerouted through the 53rd Street tunnel. Naturally, this is not the only service change in the area. Downtown A and C trains will run express between 59 St-Columbus Circle and Canal St. All downtown service on Broadway is express-only via the Manhattan Bridge. Finally, all service on the Lexington Ave line is local only from Grand Central to the Brooklyn Bridge.

There are also a couple of suspensions to contend with. First off, 2 and 5 trains are not running between E 180 Street and 241 Street. Also, continuing from previous weekends, N train service is suspended north of Queensboro Plaza. The rest of this weekend’s service changes are in the map linked below.

Weekend of Aug. 12th

Good evening. This weekend, we have a few major suspensions in place. Once again, service along the Dyre Ave line is replaced by shuttle buses. J trains are not running beyond Crescent St while N train service is suspended north of Queensboro Plaza. Finally, G trains are not running between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts and Church Av. Also be mindful of several express runs, including those on the Broadway and Culver lines. One last thing: on Saturday, A and C trains will run on the F-line through the Rutgers tunnels.

Weekend of Aug. 4th

Manhtn Brg north track closure.PNGGood evening. As we enter a new month, we finally wrap up a few continuous service disruptions. This will be the last weekend for the work on the 7th Avenue, Pelham and Queens Blvd lines. That means, just one more weekend of suspensions on the 1, E and F lines and split service on the 6-line. Unfortunately, those are not the only service changes to contend with this weekend. As you’re all probably aware, Sea Beach rehabilitation work has begun on the Coney Island-bound platforms, which will continue through next year. Other service changes include the ever-present suspension of 5 2 train service between E 180 Street and Dyre Av, along with the shutdown of the D-line between Broadway-Lafayette St and Atlantic Av. In regards to the latter, D trains will be rerouted over the C-line from Columbus Circle to W 4 Street. As a side note, be mindful of express and local runs to compensate for the rerouted D trains.
